Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Form Downloads

Don’t forget to take a look at the important camp forms below.

The State Health Department requires a record of immunization OR letter stating the medical or religious exemption reason to be collected before your child may attend camp.

Parent Manual

Be sure to read this manual for important and specific details about camp.

NY Camper Health Form Supplement

Download this health form, print, complete and fax or email back to us as soon as you can and definitely before camp begins. You may also log back in to the registration site after you have enrolled your child to upload the paperwork there. We will ask for some medical information about your child during the online registration process. In addition, NY state law requires that this supplement be on file for every camper. We thank you for your cooperation in getting this form to us in a timely manner.

Authorization to Administer Medication Form

Should your child require any medication during the camp day (including an Epi-Pen or Inhaler), we ask that you complete this form and send it directly to our office or hand it to your Camp Director on your child’s first day of camp.

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers & Families,

I am excited to introduce myself as your camp director! At camp, we focus on providing campers with age appropriate, fun and enriching programs that include activities in sports, creative arts and outdoor education. By emphasizing staff development, we see an even greater impact on our staff and camper relationships. By placing an emphasis on programming variety, we provide our campers the opportunity to expand their horizons, challenge themselves, find their true passions, and excel at the activities they are most interested in.

Outside of camp, I have served as an educator for nine years, teaching in elementary, middle school and high school settings. Currently, I work as an instructional coach in New York City, supporting teachers in trying innovative new teaching practices and technologies. I graduated from C.W. Post with a dual-master's degree in Childhood Education and Education for Students with Disabilities and have plans to pursue an additional degree in School-District Leadership when the time is right. I have worked at several summer camps in different roles, from basketball coach to teen travel counselor and CIT trainer, all of which will be meaningful in helping to lead our camp program into the future.

On a personal level, I am a father, husband and dog-lover. I have a one year old daughter, Angelina, and a nine pound havanese named Kassie. I currently reside in East Islip, having grown up in Wantagh. I am a huge Mets & NY Giants fan, enjoy hiking, golf & boxing and travel as often as possible. I spend a lot of time taking photos, reading motivational books, attending trivia nights at local spots, playing paintball and keeping up with the latest trends in educational technology. Three fun facts about me would be: (1) I have swam in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans in the same day, (2) my wife and I are overly passionate about Halloween and (3) I spent four years as a DJ/MC while living in Northern Virginia.

Working with kids is an opportunity like no other. What motivates me each day is the open-mindedness and optimism campers approach each day with. A camper can make a new friend, learn a hidden talent, master a skill they have been practicing, laugh until it hurts, try unfamiliar foods and create a craft to show off, all before lunch time. My role as your director is to be active in motivating our entire staff to be at its best so that our campers can be at theirs. I am excited to spend eight weeks encouraging our campers to step outside of their comfort zones and grow into the best versions of themselves. The amazing thing about summer camp is that it brings out the best in everyone and you don’t feel like you have to change who you are.

I look forward to meeting each and every one of our campers and their families.
