Age Range: 4 - 11

All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.

Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Swimming: recreational swim time in the club’s pool each day

Meet Your Camp Director

Hello Campers and Families,

My name is Dennis Annicelli, and I am thrilled to be your Director this summer. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in Physical Education/Health and I also earned a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Cambridge College. For the last eight years, I have been teaching physical education and health at S.A.N.D. School in Hartford. In my fifth year of teaching I was selected S.A.N.D. School Teacher of the Year which was a great honor for me. I teach students in grades K-8 and every day my gymnasium and classroom are packed with excitement. It is important to me as a teacher that I ensure that all my students have a good time and enjoy physical activities. We are always on the move and I love to see my students motivated and having fun.

One of the things I love about teaching is that my job is to help children achieve their full potential and to help them feel happier and better about themselves. I have mutual respect for all my students, I am easy to talk to, enthusiastic and I will do the same throughout the summer at camp. I am very patient, have a good sense of humor and I understand that all children are different. If there are any special activities or talents that you have or anything that you would like to do at camp, please let me know and we can work on setting up those activities.

I also coach the S.A.N.D. School basketball team. This year we came in fourth place in the city of Hartford basketball tournament. My team won the Sportsmanship Award and I received an award for Coach of the Year for middle school coaches in Hartford. We were all really excited because we work to be not only a team, but a family. I coach high school baseball in Hartford and love that just as much. I love both sports equally and love to see the growth in the players.

In November I got engaged to my fiance, Diandra, and we adopted a rescue dog from Puerto Rico. Her name is Luna and she was left behind when Hurricane Maria hit the island in 2017. We are looking to rescue another dog so that Luna has someone to play with. In my spare time, I play on a men’s basketball team and I also play softball during the summer, but my favorite activity for summer is golfing. Diandra and I like to go on vacations; we recently went to Mexico, and we try to discover new places all the time; another favorite is to visit beaches and relax when we can. We love to go out to dinner and try all different kinds of food. We both like to spend time with our families and celebrate birthdays, holidays and special visits.

I look forward to meeting all of you and having lots of fun this summer. I can’t wait to be outdoors enjoying the warm
weather, making new friends, exploring new activities and creating summer memories with all of you.

See you at camp!

Dennis Annicelli
