Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Thankful Thursdays

We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Check out this summer’s Thankful Thursday Calendar!

Lunch & Snacks

The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp.   We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts.   Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts.   If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Packing List

KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Full payment is due upon registration.  This includes a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $40 which includes 2 camp t-shirts. We accept ACH Payments and American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

If your child has special needs or will require extra assistance while at camp, please contact us before you enroll to discuss!

All requests for cancellations or changes must be made in writing to our office via email at info@kecamps.com.  Cancellations made by July 5, 2021 will be refunded in full (less the registration fee).  After that, there are no refunds. We will, however, always offer a credit towards a future week (if space is available) or for next summer.

Covid-19 Safety Policy

As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.

We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly!  We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Please find our 2021 Covid-19 Safety Policy here.

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers and Families of The Mill River Club,

Hello!  My name is Jessica Buonfrisco and I will be returning to Camp Mill River this summer for my fourth year as Camp Director!  I am so excited to continue the traditions of summer camp that we have already started at The Mill River Club and start some new ones, too!

Although my summers growing up as a young girl were spent visiting family and friends in Italy, my love for summer camps started when I worked at Pierce Country Day Camp where I was a counselor for four years.  I worked with children ranging from ages 3 to 6 in a variety of activities including: swimming, arts and crafts, sports, music, movement, and science and nature.  More recently, I was the Director of the Children’s Program at Sea Cliff Yacht Club where I implemented a summer program for children ranging from 3 to 8 years old.  At Mill River, I will organize differentiated activities for each camper which includes: arts and crafts, sports, swimming, STEM and STEAM activities, music and dance, literacy, and team building activities.  I am so excited to be working with KE Camps and Mill River once again!

I have been teaching for six years, and I currently am an ENL teacher at Munsey Park Elementary School in Manhasset, NY.  My teaching experiences have been with a variety of age groups from 2 years old through 6th grade.  Childhood education has always been my passion.  I have a hands-on/whole child educational philosophy and approach, that stems from my experiences in Reggio Emilia, Italy.  I will use the innovative ideas and authentic learning styles of this approach to make a camp program that is both dynamic and creative, and promotes personal growth and fun!

I have had some changes in my life since you all last heard from me.  I recently got engaged and I have started a certification program in School Building Leadership to become an administrator.  So much of our camp experience is sharing the beautiful moments that happen in our own lives.  I am looking forward to sharing my excitement with our campers!  I cannot wait to see you all (and maybe meet new faces, too) and see what this summer has in store for us!

See you soon!

Jessica Buonfrisco
