All campers must be at least 5 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.
Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Meet Your Camp Director
Dear Campers and Families of The Mill River Club,
Hello! My name is Jessica Buonfrisco and I will be returning to Camp Mill River this summer as Camp Director! I am so excited to continue the traditions of summer camp that we have already started!
I have been teaching for four years. I currently am an educator at Cantiague Elementary School in Jericho, NY. My experiences teaching have been with a variety of age groups from 2 years old through 5th grade. Childhood education has always been my passion. I have a hands-on whole child educational philosophy and approach that stems from my experiences in Reggio Emilia. I have been studying this approach for over five years and have been so lucky to have the chance to visit Reggio Emilia, Italy through my connections with the Scarsdale Teachers' Institute. I attended my third visit to Reggio this year, where I led a study group of 40 educators from the New York metropolitan area. I will use the innovative ideas and authentic learning styles of this approach to make a camp program that is both dynamic and creative and promotes personal growth and fun!
I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and Mathematics and a master’s degree in Teacher of English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) from Molloy College, Rockville Centre. My experiences at Molloy have sparked an interest to learn about other cultures through traveling and meeting new people. One of my passions, aside from working with children, is to travel—I have been to over fifteen different countries over the past six years. I love to immerse myself in different cultures and bring back my experiences into the classroom and camp!
Although, my summers growing up as a young girl were spent visiting family and friends in Italy, my love for summer camps started when I worked at Pierce Country Day Camp where I was a counselor for four years. I worked with children ranging from ages 3 to 6 in a variety of activities including: swimming, arts and crafts, sports, music, movement, and science and nature. More recently, I was the Director of the Children’s Program at Sea Cliff Yacht Club where I implemented a summer program for children ranging from 3 to 8 years old. I organized differentiated activities for each age group which included: arts and crafts, sports, swimming, STEM and STEAM activities, music and dance, literacy, and team building activities. I am so excited to be working with KE Camps and Mill River again!
I cannot wait to see you all (and meet new faces too) and see what this summer has in store for us!
See you soon!
