The club will provide a kid-friendly lunch to those campers who choose to purchase it for $20 per week. If you would like the lunch provided by the club, you may purchase it at the time of enrollment. If you prefer, you may pack a lunch for your child each day of the week.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers and Families,

My name is Jessica Perkins, and I am going to be the new director at camp this summer! I am so excited for the opportunity to work with Plum Brook, KE Camps, and you! I grew up in Elyria, Ohio and attended Elyria City Schools. I then went to college at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and majored in Middle Childhood Education. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2015 and I am beginning my master’s degree this summer at Bowling Green University, where I will study Curriculum Design and Educational Technology.

In addition to being the camp director, I am a middle school English teacher. I am also certified to teach middle school science. I have worked with all ages, though, not just middle school students. In the past, I worked at a day care center as an assistant teacher in various classrooms, with ages ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old. I have also had experiences volunteering by mentoring elementary school students, ages 6-9. I enjoy working with all kids, regardless of their ages, and am excited to create activities for us to do this summer. Working with kids is a rewarding experience, especially when you are able to watch them learn and grow as young people.

For fun, I love reading, writing, crafts, trivia, and spending time with family and friends. I spend a lot of time reading different books that my students read to understand the things that they enjoy. I also read other books, and spend time writing short stories for fun. I try various crafts like painting, knitting, and scrapbooking. My husband and I are also big trivia fans and love to watch trivia shows and participate in trivia games. Family is really important to me as well, and I try to spend as much time with them as I can.

I am so excited for camp this summer! Personally, I am looking forward to golf lessons and can’t wait for the wonderful instructors at Plum Brook to teach us more about the sport! I love swimming and have lots of fun activities for us to do in the pool. In addition, I already have a lot of crafts planned for us to do that range in difficulty so that all campers can enjoy putting these things together. We will also play lots of games throughout the camp day to get the kids moving and having fun. Wacky Wednesdays and Thankful Thursdays will be a really important part of our camp experience. Through camp, I hope to help teach children to learn to work well with one another, do lots of hands on activities, learn new skills, and have lots of fun!

See you at camp!
Jessica Perkins
