Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Meet Your Camp Director
Dear Campers and Families,
I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the returning Director at Camp Old Ranch for the third year. I strive for activities and programs that are both engaging and encouraging in an effort to enrich your child’s summer. Besides Old Ranch, I have had other experience working as an Assistant Program Director at a camp on Catalina Island for five years. Currently, I work as a high school science and math teacher in Huntington Beach. Working with children has always been a strong passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy the energy and excitement that children bring to each day, and I love enriching their lives through positive activities.
I am originally from Maryland, but have lived all over the country as I chase my passion for the outdoors across the map. I received a Marine Biology degree from University of North Carolina with a minor in Chemistry, and am working towards a master's degree in Education. From working as a naturalist on a whale watching ship in Massachusetts to working as a fisheries biologist on a research ship in Alaska, my love for science and education has helped direct my travels. The joy I found at the camp I worked at in Catalina led me to base myself out of southern California for the past several years. I spend the majority of my free time SCUBA diving, surfing, and sailing, as well as exploring the many beautiful places California has to offer.
I look forward to making Camp Old Ranch the very best it can be for our campers, staff, and families. This year we will focus on enrichment programs, activities, and team building. I am also excited to bring additional hands-on learning and exploration through science demonstrations and experiments. I am eager to work with a staff that has strong leadership skills, so that we can see an even greater positive role-model impact on our staff and camper relationships. I plan to place an emphasis on programming variety and development, so that we provide our campers the opportunity to expand their horizons, and excel at the activities they find most interesting.
