The Sponsoring Member will not be charged in association with Camp Norwood Hills in any way, however, he or she must be aware that you are listing him or her as your Sponsor. This policy allows Norwood Hills Country Club to ensure that all Non-Members attending camp are associated with a Club Member in some way.

Age Range: 4 - 10

All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.

Activities

Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

For more information on the golf and tennis lessons at camp, please click here.

Golf: 2 recreational group lessons each week
Tennis: 2 recreational group lessons each week
Swimming: recreational swim time in the club’s pool each day

Wacky Wednesday

Every Wednesday at camp is a wacky one with a different festive theme – a true highlight of each week! Check out this summer’s Wacky Wednesday Calendar!

Thankful Thursday

We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Check out this summer’s Thankful Thursday Calendar!

Lunch & Snacks

The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp.   We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Packing List

KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Extra Snacks (Optional)

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers and Families,

My name is Melanie King, and I will be your Director at Camp Norwood Hills this summer. I am beyond excited for camp and wanted to be the first to welcome you! I work for the Fort Zumwalt School District as a long-term substitute counselor for Progress South Elementary School. I hold my K-12 Counseling Certificate in Missouri. I received my Master of Education from University of Missouri Saint Louis in December of 2018. I attended Eastern Illinois University, where I majored in Psychology and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016. While attending UMSL, I worked as a teacher for an early childhood center and as a nanny for a wonderful family with three kiddos under the age of five. Through counseling and my own personal experiences, I have gained a passion for working with children and young adults. My favorite part is getting to know each child’s individual personality. I love to watch children step outside of their comfort zones and learn something new.

Outside of the school setting, I am a Girls on the Run Coach. I love this program and enjoy watching young girls become confident and strong leaders among their peers. Some of my favorite childhood memories were from attending summer camps. In particular, I attended sports camps through my school district, such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, and tennis. Some of the people I spent those weeks with are still my good friends today. When I found KE Camps, I loved their values and beliefs about what camp should be and what a child should get from attending. My goal is to incorporate those values as well as create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for each camper. My hope is that your child looks forward to coming to camp, because my staff and I are going to do our best to make each and everyday interesting and fun for everyone.

Some things to know about me are that I absolutely love everything lime green, being outside, traveling, and my new puppy, Remmy. I may be biased, but he is the cutest puppy ever! One way I combine two hobbies of mine is through one of my lifetime goals: run a race in all fifty states. Currently, I have ran in three out of fifty. At the beginning of the summer, I will be running my second half-marathon in Indianapolis, which will be my fourth state, woo! One super exciting change coming up for me is that I will be getting married in October of this year!

I look forward to meeting you and your camper!
Melanie King
