All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.

Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Wacky Wednesdays

Every Wednesday at camp is a wacky one with a different festive theme – a true highlight of each week! Check out this summer’s Wacky Wednesday Calendar!

Thankful Thursdays

We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Check out this summer’s Thankful Thursday Calendar!

Lunch & Snacks

The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp.   We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts.   Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts.   If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Packing List

KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Extra Snacks (Optional)
Flotation Vest: If you know that your child will be classified as a Bogey (our term for Non-Swimmer) this summer or you prefer your child to be classified this way, please pack a flotation vest for use in the Shallow End of the pool.

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers and Families,

I am so thrilled to be joining the KE Camps team at Knollwood. I’d like to take this opportunity to share some details about about myself so you feel like you know your camp director a little bit before we meet in person.

I have been happily teaching third grade in the city of Chicago for the past two years. My classroom is always humming with students working cooperatively. I always wonder what a student’s favorite subject in school is and I almost always get the same response - SCIENCE!

As it turns out, it’s my favorite subject to teach! I love designing lessons where my students get to dig into learning by getting a little messy, a little crazy, and having a whole lot of fun!!!

On a personal level, I have been married to my best friend, Cole, for almost a year. We have a dog named Waldo and cat named Ruby. They are currently learning how to get along as brother and sister with Waldo being the baby in the family. We spoil them with love and treats, and Waldo absolutely loves being outdoors. Cole and I share a love for travel and adventure. We can go from staying at a fancy resort in Hawaii to spending a week hiking in the mountains; we do it all! I have this dream of hiking the entire Appalachian Trail one year. Did you know that it’s a total of 2,190 miles long?! I wonder if running a marathon would be easier! Let me know what you think!

I just wanted you to know how much I look forward to meeting you. My goal is to make this summer one we remember for years to come. In just a few, short weeks, we are going to become a little family. Each child treasured, honored, and respected.

Before I go, I want campers to make a promise to yourselves before you arrive on the first day. Promise yourself that you will have the courage to try new things. Camp is about making friends, having fun, and learning new skills! I promise that if you ever fall, there will always be a hand reaching out to help you back up!

Until we meet, I wish you all the best!
Alice Sheldon
