Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Swimming: recreational swim time in the club’s pool each day

Wacky Wednesdays

Every Wednesday at camp is a wacky one with a different festive theme – a true highlight of each week! Check out this summer’s Wacky Wednesday Calendar!

Thankful Thursdays

We are excited to announce the return of Thankful Thursdays into our camp program! In true camp spirit, every Thursday campers will have the chance to give back to their community by working together on a simple, fun and rewarding community service project. Check out this summer’s Thankful Thursday Calendar!

Lunch & Snacks

The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp.   We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts.   Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts.   If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Packing List

KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Registration for Summer 2021 is now open and will continue until we are full.  You must be enrolled in advance, however, in order to attend camp. We are happy to accept online registrations up until the night before the start of each week of camp, provided that space is available.

Full payment is due upon registration.  This includes a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $40 which includes 2 camp t-shirts. We accept ACH payments and American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

If your child has special needs or will require extra assistance while at camp, please contact us before you enroll to discuss!

Cancellations & Refunds

All requests for cancellations or changes must be made in writing to our office via email at info@kecamps.com. Cancellations made by June 20, 2021 will be refunded in full (less the registration fee).  After that, there are no refunds. We will, however, always offer a credit towards a future week (if space is available) or for next summer.

Covid-19 Safety Policy

As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.

We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly!  We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Please find our 2021 Covid-19 Safety Policy here.

Meet Your Camp Director

Hello Campers and Families,

My name is Brynne McCormick, and I am the new director of Camp Elk River at Elk River Club. I am so excited to meet all of you and have the best summer ever!

I absolutely love camp and am overjoyed to be a part of your camp experience! The memories I made while being a camper and as a camp counselor are endless. When I was younger, I always looked forward to going to camp and meeting all of my best summer buddies! Camp provides opportunities for children to be creative, develop lifelong skills, and to build connections with nature and the surrounding community. I am looking forward to fostering all of these experiences and making this summer meaningful for you and your campers!

My passion for working with children has led me to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at Appalachian State University. I am in my third year of that program and am so excited to incorporate all the fun things I’m learning into your child’s camp experience. I have worked with children in many different settings, and love how each child thinks about the world in a different way. I know how important having positive adult and peer relationships are for children and look forward to incorporating that into daily activities. For these reasons and more, I am thrilled to be serving you and your child in an activity-rich, joyful camp experience!

In addition to my passion for working with children, I love hiking with my dog, am a book fanatic, love all Disney movies, and spending quality time with my family. I am also a huge fan of ice breakers and team-building activities, so get ready to have a ton of fun this summer!

I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Best,

Brynne McCormick
