The Sponsoring Member will not be charged in association with DMGCC Day Camp in any way, however, he or she must be aware that you are listing him or her as your Sponsor. This policy allows Des Moines Golf & Country Club to ensure that all Non-Members attending camp are associated with a Club Member in some way.
Age Range: 4 - 10
All campers must be at least 4 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.
Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KECamps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch for every camper each day. If you would prefer to pack your own lunch for your child, please do so in a cooler or backpack. A snack will be served each afternoon to all campers. We encourage you to pack some extra snacks for your child as well.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KECamps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Meet Your Camp Director
Dear Campers and Families,
This past year, my day started with something like the following:
Student: Hey Miss Kendra! Knock knock! / Me: Who’s there? / Student: Who / Me: Who, who? / Student:
Nice owl imitation!
During the school year as an elementary special education associate, I realized my summer probably wasn’t going to be filled with these jokes or little moments of joy every day, and my heart sank a little…until I got a phone call from KE Camps saying they’d like to extend an invitation to be camp director for DMGCC Day Camp. With camp on my mind, I walked out of my elementary school and thought of this quote, “When a child gives you a gift, even if it is a rock they just picked up, exude gratitude. It might be the only thing they have to give, and they have chosen to give it to you.” As you know, children’s greatest gifts are far beyond items like a drawing they made or a rock they give you. It is their everyday spunky personalities, the way their faces lights up, jokes they tell, or a clever smile. All of these gifts encompass their child-like JOY! I want to express my gratitude to you for allowing me to share in your children’s gifts and joy this summer as their camp director.
Outside of school, I can be found being goofy on a dance floor, reading a book at Caribou Coffee, going on hikes, kayaking
at the lake, focusing at church, playing with my 14 nieces and nephews, having dinner with my parents or best friend, Marie,
or singing at the top of my lungs while I cook. After talking to me for only a few minutes, you’d most likely learn that El
Salvador and many people who live there are important to me (P.S. I love being asked about my parents’ nonprofit, Friends
From Iowa Foundation, which provides services in El Salvador!). At some point during our conversation, a cute baby nearby
might distract me, because I love children and can’t wait to be a mom someday!
I am excited to incorporate mine and your child’s personality, knowledge, and passions to make camp an unforgettable
experience! Your child will thrive in our day-to-day activities of science experiments, swimming, crafts, music, golf lessons,
and more. I can't wait to tell you about our Wacky Wednesday theme, SMILE Band Program, and weekly community service.
See you and your joyful camper at camp soon!
