Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike! Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”. The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

Lunch & Snacks
The club will provide a delicious and kid-friendly lunch and snack for every camper each day.
Please note that we are a “nut aware” camp. We ask that you do not pack any food for your child that contains nuts. Likewise, the lunches and snacks served by the club will not contain any nuts. If your child has a food allergy and you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
KE Camps requires all campers to wear our official camp shirt each day of the week. Please leave all electronic devices and cell phones at home. Campers should dress in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additional shirts may be purchased at camp. Camp is a place to un-plug! Please pack the following items in a labeled bag or backpack:

Covid-19 Safety Policy
As we enter into Summer 2021, we are fully prepared to take on the challenging circumstances surrounding Covid-19 - we did it in Summer 2020 and we can do it again! The health and safety of all campers, families, and staff members continues to be our absolute top priority. As we are all well-aware, protocols and guidelines surrounding Covid-19 are fluid and as such, we will adapt and adjust our policies, as needed, leading up to and during the camp season.
We encourage you to enroll early as spaces will be limited this summer and we expect that camp will fill up quickly! We are sure you agree that a summer spent at camp will be more needed and meaningful than ever this year.

Meet Your Camp Director
Hello Campers and Families,
My name is Vanessa Spilotro, and I am so excited to be your director at Camp Butterfield! I am looking forward to spending this summer getting to know each and every one of you!
Before we welcome you to camp, I wanted to let you know a little bit about who I am. I was born and raised nearby in Addison, IL and have lived here most of my 25 years of life. In 2017, I earned dual degrees at Loyola University Chicago in Psychology and International Studies, with a minor in Rome Studies. After graduation, I spent a year living and working in Rome, Italy at Loyola’s study abroad campus. As a Student Life Assistant, I provided resources and emergency assistance for students as a full-time, live-on professional in a residential campus. Much like a camp director, I organized my own programming and trips for students to create cultural and linguistic immersion in Italy and throughout parts of Europe.
Currently, I am working on my master's degree in School Counseling at Concordia University Chicago and hope to become a school counselor by 2022. During the academic school year, I work as a Student Support Assistant at the Technology Center of Dupage. I work with students individually or in small groups to help them better understand assignments and reinforce learning concepts provided by instructors.
So why did I want to join the KE Camps team? I believe education happens in all forms and beyond the classroom. I care for the whole person - academically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, etc. I believe that camp is a place where children can tap into all different sides of themselves and are allowed to learn, grow, and prosper - all while having fun! I have always loved working with kids and have 3 nieces and 1 nephew of my own. I have had years of experience babysitting and participating in and leading sports camps. My goal this summer is to maintain an inclusive and safe environment while providing a memorable experience for all campers!
Get ready for a summer full of activities, adventures, and amazing opportunities! I am most excited for the themes we will be having (especially Island Paradise!) and being able to learn from all of you. I can’t wait for the games we will come up with, golf skills we will acquire, and laughs we will share.
I look forward to welcoming you all!
