If you are not a Club Member of Beech Mountain Club, you must be “Sponsored” by a Club Member in order to register your child for camp. The Sponsoring Member will not be charged in association with Beech Mountain Club Camp in any way, however, he or she must be aware that you are listing him or her as your Sponsor. This policy allows Beech Mountain Club Camp to ensure that all Non-Members attending camp are associated with a Club Member in some way.

Age Range: 5 - 12

All campers must be at least 5 years old by the first day they attend camp. In addition, campers must be potty-trained and able to handle a full day program.

Activities

Each day of camp will be a new and exciting experience for our campers as no two days with KE Camps are exactly alike!  Our days begin with Hello Camp, a morning meeting of sorts where, through an assortment of organized activities, campers and staff get to know each other, review the day’s schedule and sing our special camp song! Similarly, we will end our days with Goodbye Camp, a time for wrap-up activities and reflections, SMILE Bands, snacks, and “see you later’s”.   The bulk of camp will be spent participating in a wide variety of activities throughout the day that may include:

For more information on the golf and tennis lessons at camp, please click here.

Golf: 1 recreational group lesson each week
Tennis: 1 recreational group lesson each week
Swimming: recreational swim time in the club’s pool each day

Meet Your Camp Director

Dear Campers and Families,

After a fun winter with many snowy weekends, spring has arrived on Beech Mountain. Leaves (and bear) are starting to emerge and some flowers are even beginning to bloom. Summer is fast approaching, and I am thrilled to be back at the Club this summer as camp director!

I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2014 with a degree in Special Education and I currently teach for Watauga County Schools. I have enjoyed working in summer camps since 2014, being a camp counselor and consultant for Camp Lakey Gap in Black Mountain, NC for four summers and happy to be starting my second year as camp director for Beech Mountain Club. I am also in my second year as a Beech Mountain Volunteer Fire Department member, joining soon after moving to the mountain.

I had some great times riding the slopes at Beech Mountain Resort this winter and am looking forward to riding my mountain bike throughout the spring and summer. I am hoping to get a few rounds of disc golf in and hike as often as I can with my two dogs, Arwen and Shady. These activities are great fun for me but I also love getting to spend the summer helping kids make great memories at camp. We had so much fun last year! Some of my favorite memories were our STEM activities, our weekly Iron Chef cooking competitions, hiking adventures around the Club, and the fun times at the pool.

I’m excited for summer camp to begin! Please reach out if you have any questions and we will do our best to help.

I look forward to another great summer in 2020!

Sincerely,
Calvin Cole
